fall time
I LOVE fall. It is my favorite time of the year! It starts to get cool, it is my birthday :), Halloween comes and Claire's Birthday and it means Christmas is on its way. It seems like there are so many fun activities to do in the fall. One of Claire's favorite places is Staheli Farm. We went there last year too and this year we couldn't wait to take her back.
We have also made it a tradition to go the rodeo parade and the breakfast that they have every year. She has so much fun at the breakfast because there is a petting zoo and booths with fun games. And of course she loves the parade because of all the candy they throw out!
potty time
I knew as soon as we got back from Mexico that I wanted to start potty training Claire. We had exactly 2 months before she was turning 2 and I wanted her to be completely potty trained by then. I waited until I had used our last diaper and then I promised to never buy another diaper. Can I just say we spend A LOT of time at home. I felt like we lived in the bathroom. The first day we pretty much did. She just sat on her potty and we watched little potty training videos on my phone. The first time she went in the potty she was so excited. I had a big bucket of little toys and treats I had gotten her and let her pick one out every time she went in the potty. She thought it was the best thing ever. Even though we didn't leave the house much and felt like I was constantly taking her potty, she learned so quick I cannot complain. By the end of the second week she was not having any more accidents and she was so good at telling me when she needed to go. And she loves wearing her big girl undies and her little bum just looks so cute in them...
MEXICO
Yes! Trevor and I finally went on a trip...by ourselves! We chose to go to Cabo San Lucas. It was very stressful trying to get everything ready to go and anticipating leaving Claire but once we were gone we had a blast. It was so relaxing not needing to worry about anything but swimming in the beach and laying by the pool. We stayed right in town by the marina so we could hang out at our resort or we could go to the big shopping center. At the shopping center we did some normal things that we don't always get to do at home like go bowling and go to the movies.
Trev being his dorky self
Our hotel's big advertisement was that it had its own private beach. We thought it was pretty funny when we got there and there was just a little rope separating "our beach" and the rest of the beach where all the bars and parties and many many hagglers were. So as soon as you started walking onto the "private beach" all the people selling stuff would run to the rope and yell at you.
My favorite part of the whole trip was when we rented kayaks and rode out to a real private beach. It was a little cove where NO ONE was, just Trevor and I. I didn't want to take my camera in the water so we took a waterproof disposable camera and I was so sad because all of our pictures look like there are water drops all over them. go figure. So I didn't really get any pictures but once we got to the little cove we just swam in the ocean and watched all the crabs and just laid out, it was so relaxing. The next day we rented jet skis which was also really fun and none of the pictures turned out :( we even saw a seal or something swimming in the water right next to us.
Our trip was so much fun! We got to relax so much and eat good food and just spend time with each other. We are so grateful to have awesome families who watched Claire while we were gone and we didn't have to worry at all.

PEACE OUT
Claire has been going to a babysitter since I started working in January. Since I work graveyards she goes the next morning for about 4 hours while I sleep. It took Claire a few long months to get used to playing with other kids and not having ALL the attention.... but now she loves going and playing! Her babysitter also does lots of fun little parties. They always have a party for holidays and they have some themed parties and she goes all out. Recently they had a hippy day and Claire came home looking like this....
They made shirts, and got necklaces, yummy cookies, headbands
and buckets full of candy
better yet we were meeting the cousins at jumpin jacks after
so I am sure everyone wondered why she was all dressed up
She still always asks to wear her necklace and tries to do the peace sign and she wants to wear her shirt to bed every night!
COTTON CANDY TIME
Out of all the years the fair has come to Washington County I have only been to it twice! This was my second year and I was so excited to take Claire and drag Trevor there! Claire is one crazy kid and I knew she would have a blast and plus fair food is the best! I love cotton candy and funnel cake and nachos and everything deep fried and spending tons of money for them.... The first ride we went on was the Ferris wheel. I am scared to death of heights so this one is not my favorite but Claire laughed the whole entire time. After that we took Claire on all the little roller coasters that she could ride on and she was in heaven!!
needless to say we will definitely be going to the fair next year! It's worth the money just to see the looks on her face.
