18 Months and NOT Slowing Down!

I can't believe how big Claire is getting. She is already a 1 1/2! She is getting so smart and is so much fun to play with. Saying she is a busybody is the understatement of the year! She never slows down. She is learning new things everyday. Some of her fun accomplishments....

*trying to repeat everything we say!
*answering when questions are asked on cartoons
*repeating spanish words on Dora the Explorer
*getting new teeth all the time. has a whole mouth full...finally
*loves singing the ABCs
*LOVES purple cabbage...weird I know
*has a "supermodel" smile which is the biggest cheeser ever!
*can say every animal and what sound they make
*goes down the big slides at the park all by herself
*I can finally name things off for meals and she will tell me yes or no
*after getting into a drawer, getting out a headband and breaking it in half she said
"daddy daddy wook (look) broke, sorry" ...almost a full sentence
*tells me when she needs a diaper change
*loves to flush the big potty

NEXT adventure...POTTY TRAINING. I just bought her a potty and some underwear. She thinks they are pretty cool but we will see how long the cool factor lasts. She tells me when she is poopy and the other day she was trying to wipe herself with toilet paper and tried putting a diaper on herself.....soooo I figure she gets it enough that it is time to get rid of those DIAPERS!

making a mess like usual
but at least she can try to clean it up now

she thought she was pretty cool with her
temp. tattoo, sippy and sunglasses

EASTER sunday

On Sunday afternoon before going to dinner at G & McMullin's, I did a little Easter egg hunt just around the house. Then I gave Claire and Trevor their Easter baskets.

She got some books and a watering can so she can water the plants A few weeks ago we bought some Easter crafts at Roberts and she made a visor ha
She got lots of fun little prizes from my favorite place-the dollar bins at Target

Later that night we decorated some eggs. Claire thought it was funny and didn't really understand it but loved making a mess!

our beautiful tie dye glitter eggs!

EASTER SATURDAY

Easter is one of my favorite holidays for many reasons. 1- the CANDY! 2- cause I usually get a present :) 3- spending time with family 4- getting Claire a new outfit 5- I love putting together Easter baskets and egg hunts 6- coloring Easter eggs 7- did I mention the CANDY! 8- AND the MOST important reason remembering Christ and his sacrifice and resurrection. Overall it is just a time when I feel very blessed and thankful for everything in my life and I get to spend it with everyone I love. And there was no shortage of any of that this year!

We had such a fun Easter! Claire is to the age where she understands how to do the egg hunts and that there are treats inside of them and trust me no one was getting in her way of those treats. Claire was lucky enough to have multiple Easter egg hunts and eat way too many sweets. On Friday she went to her babysitter who was having a party. When I picked her up the babysitter asked if she had already done an egg hunt. When I said no she was shocked! She said "well she sure knows what she is doing. She pushed every kid over that got in her way of those eggs." Apparently she pushed a little girl over and when the little girl started crying Claire called her a baby. EMBARRASSING! um I don't know where she learned that one. (probably her dad....or at least I'll blame it on him) Needless to say Claire caught on to the idea of finding eggs pretty quick!

On Saturday we started with breakfast at G & G Johnson's. We ate delicious crepes (which was the first time I have ever had crepes but def. not the last!) Then the eggs were hidden and the festivities began. I guess it is now a tradition (since he did it last year too) that all the kids go inside while the eggs are hidden in the backyard then they all line up behind Trevor where he proceeds to bunny hop into the backyard with furry bunny ears on.... don't ask me..... but I am sure some family member out there has a picture and I need to find it. blackmail.
After the egg hunt all the kids got in their swimsuits and we went to the park to play in the splashpad, throw around a football and eat pizza!

Claire took a very good nap after all the excitement

For dinner we headed over to G & G McMullin's where they had made Claire a fun scavenger hunt that her nieces and nephews helped her with!

and since Easter is such a great holiday it NEEDS two blog posts....

tHe HAiR ThaT iS ClaIRe

Can I just say that Claire's hair is CRAZY but I love it.... I love how curly her hair is and it is so cute when it is actually done, but that is not very often. It can only be done when it is soaking wet and just washed...so only right after a bath. Then if she takes a nap it is a crazy mop when she wakes up and I have to get it soaking wet again to even manage it. At least it is long enough to put it in a pony tail for those days that I don't have time to re-wet her hair 5 times!
